Dear Sirs
FORMAL COMPLAINT:
A1073 PROGRESS IN LOCAL TRANSPORT PLAN
Stage 2 - Referral
Complaint Reference No: 192822
We are in receipt of your letter dated 12 May 2006 (Ref: TSP/YK/fmc)
and write again to state that we are not happy with the response
given by Yim Kong, Head of Design and Construction. (Click
here to read the letter dated 12 May 2006 from LCC).
Mr Speechley was imprisoned for 2 years. To state that his
involvement was ‘very limited’ and related to a
‘small section of the route’ surely would not then
warrant a 2 year custodial sentence?
Our formal complaint mentioned very clearly that Cllr Hill
was in fact, we believe, Finance Chairman at the time (despite
his recent comments in the May 2006 edition of County News)
and he proceeded to get elected an entirely new executive from
his own same political party. We understand that the whole current
cabinet were supporting Mr Speechley as Councillors.
Your letter of 12 May 2006 does not address any of the above
important points at all. Our request to see an independent Inquiry
remains, because there are many unanswered questions such as:
1. If members were aware of Mr Speechley’s involvement
and yet are still in office, why is this?
2. Was Mr Speechley in office at the time the route was selected?
3. Will Mr Speechley profit from the sale of the land he owns
if this road is constructed?
4. Does Cllr Hill or any indeed any other member of the Exec
stand to profit from either the sale of land or the chosen route
of the scheme?
We note your comment that in the ‘unlikely event’
of the A1073 scheme not proceeding, it is the Regional Assembly’s
decision as to what reprioritisation of schemes will take place
- likely to be based on high priority schemes currently listed.
It is entirely the fault of Lincolnshire County Council that
Boston is not listed as a priority. Lincolnshire County Council
refuses to listen to this urgent need.
We look forward to receiving your response to this Formal Complaint
Referral.
Yours faithfully
